Narendra Shrestha, a photo journalist from the Kantipur Publication has won the Mega Bank Photo of the Year 2068 in the photo competition held by Photo Journalist Club, Nepal. Nuwakot Durbar, the former palace of King Prithvi Narayan Shah holds a historical and emotional value of Nepal as he is the first king of united Nepal. Situated near the Trishuli Bazzar, this seven story palace of Nuwakot is now a destination for all the domestic and foreign tourists to trackback the Nepalease history as well as to explore the architectural beauty of durbar itself and natural beauty of the surroundings.

Paan Charhea Jatra which means inviting guests in Newari language, is one of the most popular cultural activity in Nepal and hold a great value among Newar Community. In newar community, Paan Charhea Jatra is as valuable as Dashain and celebrated hugely. During the festival there is the Khat Jatra of the eight sister goddesses – the protectresses of this city in the night. The Newars of Kathmandu city observe this day as a family get together or ‘Paan Charhea’. The chariot of Goddesses Kankeshwori and Bhadrakali is brought to Ason, and the family get together of eight sister goddesses also takes place. Here the Bhadrakali from tebaha is represented by yellow hats, the wotu bhadrakali is represented by blue hats and the kankeshowri is represented by red hats.

Pachali Bhairab Khadka Jatra, never heard before but was very amused to see some of the glimpses of it. Happened once in twelve years, the Jatra “Festival” of Pachali Bhairab is a full of fun, thrill and guestures of god during the various session integarted. I couldn’t get all the information about it but happy to be part of it and would like thanx my friend to let me know about it at the last minute so that I am able to share some of the snapshots to you all.
